Mind Threads Web Design is based in Hamlet, NC and owned and operated by myself, Gene Mercer. What once started as a learning experience and hobby, very quickly grew in to a home business back in 1996 thanks to my friends and family.
I’ve been involved with personal computers since 1983. I ran a local dial-up computer bulletin board before the internet and have been on the internet consistently since 1995 when it became locally available. I have an associates degree in Mechanical Engineering and Design Technology and obtained my Cisco CCNA certification in 2000. I have completed too many computer courses to count and have done CAD (Computer Aided Design) for over 20 years. I have worked as a Designer/ System Administrator for around 15 years juggling both million design projects and computer / LAN / End-user support.
This web site is basically a combination of my personal interest and will hopefully offer you some examples of what’s possible with a little personal time and some free software found on the internet. If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to ask..
